This power/ground Wire is a Copper-Clad Aluminum Wire (CCA). This means it comprises an inner aluminum core and outer copper cladding. This battery cable was explicitly designed to be larger than the competition. When comparing like-sized conductors, copper-clad aluminum is less conductive than Oxygen-Free Copper (CCA). However, CCA is also much less expensive. By increasing the area in our cable, Absolute achieved a performance similar to OFC without the higher cost. This is what makes our cable different from the competition.
Increasing the conductor size, Absolute achieved a performance similar to that of traditionally sized OFC cables. Following the load rating below, the CCA Cable uses accepted industry standards for voltage drop over the rated distance. Applications include mobile audio and other 12V automotive applications. The CCA Cable features an ultra-flex matte PVC jacket that allows it to bend to any radius and is stable in temperatures from -40C to 105C.
